Activities

Walk, paddle, hike, fish, watch whales, play golf — then go home for soup.

The outdoor week

Kleinmond's activities are mostly free and weather-shaped: coastal walking, lagoon kayaking, Kogelberg hiking, rock pools, birding, fishing, and seasonal whale watching. There is a golf course. There are tidal pools. There is not a dense calendar of nightlife — and people who need one usually keep a pied-à-terre in the city.

Nearby, not here

Hermanus (often about 20–35 minutes depending on the road and your patience) adds wine, more restaurants, and land-based whale watching infrastructure. Betty's Bay adds penguins and Harold Porter. Pringle Bay and Rooiels sit back along Clarence Drive. A life here can include those towns without pretending Kleinmond is them.
